I'm 13 years old and I have autism. For a long time, I only ate a really small number of foods. That's really common for kids with autism — it's not stubbornness, it's just how our brains work. Textures, smells, and new things can feel overwhelming in a way that's hard to explain.
But things have been changing! I've been staying with my friend Tim and we cook together all the time. I keep a journal of every new food I try — what I loved, what was just okay, and what offended my ancestors. 😂
So far I've tried 81 foods and I'm nowhere near done. Every new try is a win, even if it ends up in the ancestors column!
Two colors that just go together perfectly.
The things that make Taylor, Taylor.
I've tried 81 foods on my food adventure — including fried alligator, which I actually loved! I have autism and used to only eat a handful of foods. Now I try something new all the time.
I even helped break down a whole pork loin — cut about a quarter of it myself and ran it through the cuber attachment. I also helped make lasagna, fried chicken, ramen, and a whole bunch more.
